We are told that it is not good to judge a book by its cover yet a new study indicates that sometimes these assumptions are correct. More specifically, the research claims that women have the ability to tell if a man is not faithful, according to his facial features.
This is the first evidence showing that assumptions about fidelity women a man can be right. “It’s remarkable that such impressions may be correct since such information can be very inaccurate,” the authors wrote in their study.
In the study, 34 men took part and as many women. Participants were asked to consider photos of 101 men and 88 women, saying how it was a male or female character and that it was likely to be unfaithful.
The images were taken in 2005 by researchers at the University of Western Australia and included portraits of people who recognized that they were infidels.
Just based on pictures, women were able to find him wicked men with high enough accuracy (their assumptions were wrong only 38%). They are associated with the infidelity of masculinity expressed by facial features and not how attractive he was.
In contrast, men have failed to find women who recognized the photo that deceived their partners. In fact, they were labeled wrong these women 77%.
Furthermore, they associated predisposition to a woman cheating with femininity and beauty, which means that men perceive women to be unfaithful attractive.
