Natural remedies for tired eyes

The skin around the eyes is five times finer than on the rest of the body. In this very sensitive area, water retention is frequent, which causes swelling of upper and lower eyelids. Eat foods that are low in fat and high in fiber to stimulate lymphatic circulation: in particular fruit and vegetables (leeks, fennel, dandelion). Drink plenty of liquids (tea, water), to fight against water retention and promote blood fluidity.

To alleviate swollen eyelids following natural treatments are recommended:

Chamomile tea bags:

Soak two chamomile tea bags in warm water and allow them to cool and apply them on your eyes for 5 minutes.

Sliced cucumber
Wash cucumber and cut into rings, but not very thick. Put cucumber slices directly on the eye to relieve upper and lower eyelids.

An ice cube
Put an ice cube on the eyes, wrapped in clean gauze to avoid skin irritation.

Lavender compresses

Pour into a bowl: ΒΌ cup of water and a few drops of lavender essential oil. Put on the eye compresses soaked in the lotion. Lavender decongest and calm down. You can also use lavender floral water directly.

Grated potato

Clean a raw potato. Put everything in a gauze in the refrigerator. When the preparation is cold, hold the gauze on the eyelids for 10 minutes.

If eyelids begin to swell suddenly, and this effect lasts for several weeks, it is advisable to consult an ophthalmologist.
